News and quotes Regrouping Janovice

The first half of the second day of the Central European Rally is over and the field meets up in Janovice. There, the drivers can take a deep breath before the afternoon stage starts. Some of the field were unable to complete SS5 (Sumavske Hostice 1) due to an incident and are looking forward to making up for it this afternoon.

# 20 Oliver Solberg (SWE) / Elliott Edmondson (GBR), Skoda Fabia RS (Rally 2)

"It hasn't gone badly so far. We're getting more and more of a feel for the car. We've tried out a few things. The conditions are constantly changing and that doesn't make things easy. Every stage this morning was different and it got harder and harder. I don't think it will be any easier this afternoon."

# 21 Yohan Rossel (FRA) / Florian Barral (FRA), Citroën C3 (Rally 2)

"It wasn't easy today. After yesterday, we have to find a good rhythm again today."

# 22 Nikolay Gryazin (BGR) / Konstantin Alexsandrov (ANA), Citroën C3 (Rally 2)

"My day so far has been okay. The long stage was pretty slippery. I didn't expect it to be that bad. But we still set a good time. Tomorrow is a completely different rally. Everything is different in the Czech Republic - especially the tarmac. That should suit our car."

# 27 Armin Kremer (GER) / Ella Kremer (GER), Skoda Fabia RS (Rally 2)

"We got through without any problems. That's already a positive. The second stage today was very tricky due to the fog and the grip conditions were difficult to calculate."

# 30 Filip Mareš (CZE) / Radovan Bucha (CZE), Toyota GR Yaris (Rally 2)

"Our morning was okay. The long stage was difficult. You could certainly have driven faster, but there was a risk of overdoing it. You never knew what to expect around a bend. I played it safe, even though I would have liked to drive faster. For me, the atmosphere here in the Czech Republic is simply sensational. The spectators support us everywhere. Many thanks to the fans."

# 31 Marijan Griebel (GER) / Tobias Braun (GER), Skoda Fabia RS (Rally 2)

"My morning went very satisfactorily. The conditions in Klatovy were clear, but really difficult on the other stage. As it was damp and still wet in places, the grip conditions kept changing. We could certainly have driven faster, but we are fighting for places with a three-time European champion and a former WRC1 driver. That's very good for our programme. I'm looking forward to another long stage this afternoon. There are many corners where you can still improve."

# 39 Jan Černý (CZE) / Ondřej Krajča (CZE), Ford Fiesta Rally3 (Rally 3)

"The morning went quite well - except for special stage number four. We were very fast in the middle of the stage, about one second per kilometre faster than our competitors. But then, unfortunately, we lost the brakes. Unfortunately, we can't change that."

# 40 Filip Kohn (CZE) / Tom Woodburn (GBR), Ford Fiesta Rally3 (Rally 3)

"It went much better now than yesterday. The feeling in the car is getting better and better. We have to keep pushing and stay on the track. The Czech fans are great. The fog was difficult, though."

# 43 Hermann Gassner (GER) / Michael Wenzel (GER), Renault Clio Rally3 (Rally 3)

"It's been okay so far. The weather was worse than we had expected. It was pretty slippery, especially on the second stage. Unfortunately, we didn't drive the third stage. We're currently on course for a podium and I hope we can maintain that. The long stage will be good again this afternoon. I wouldn't say we're looking forward to it, as it's very difficult. But it's great to be able to drive such a long stage. We don't get to do it that often."

# 48 Claire Schönborn (GER) / Jara Hain (GER), Ford Fiesta Rally3 (Rally 3)

"The first stage this morning actually went very well. Unfortunately, the fuel pump probably malfunctioned on the second stage. Fuel is still being pumped, but not the way it should be. That's why we have a lot of misfiring. We were only travelling at 100 km/h and lost a lot of time as a result. That's very annoying. We probably won't be allowed to change them during the flexi service. That's why we have to decide whether to end the day for today. The engineers are currently checking the data to see if we can continue. It's a difficult situation."

# 51 Thomas Pahlitzsch (GER) / Stefan Grundmann (GER), Volkswagen Polo GTI (Rally 2)

"We had a ride out yesterday and lost a lot of time. That's why we were a bit cautious in the morning. We now have to build up our confidence again. I was happy with myself again at the end. It was fun. I know the Klatovy stages quite well. SS3 is actually the most beautiful stage, but unfortunately we didn't drive it. But we have the pleasure of being able to drive it again. "

# 53 Timo Weigert (GER) / Jasmin Weigert (GER), Renault Clio Rally3 (Rally 3)

"We're still struggling a bit with the setup of the new car. We haven't yet found the right chassis setting for the undulating surface here in the Czech Republic. We are still working on that. Bit by bit it's getting better. I'm now looking forward to the 26-kilometre stage again and hope that the conditions will become more predictable."
